I went to the blue ridge mountains yesterday for a family get together on top of Apple Ridge, one of the blue ridge mountains, in southern-middle Pennsylvania.
The view from up there was as un-believeable as the perfect outdoor weather we are having... in January!
I suspect this nice weather in January means the polar ice caps are, indeed melting... it won't be long before we have polar bears hitch-hiking down here to North America... just to have a place to hang out! "Hey, those Pennsylvania black bears sure are a gettin' white!"...
I took my fiddle along...
There was a 90-year-old lady there, "Nan", the matriarch of this group of people... she wanted to hear me play the fiddle, as she's a musician too (keyboard)...
I played, she loved it... and suddenly I was accepted into this group of folks who were previously unknown to me.
We had a great time. Saw a covered bridge, an old cemetery that had stones dating back into the 1700s, 1744 specifically... before the Consitution of the United States had been created!
After breathing all that good mountain air, I came home, picked up my electric guitar, and worked out Ballad of Jed Campett roll style, with 3 fingers as it might be played on a banjo (roll style, that is)...
I'm suggesting, since this tab is for a guitar neck with 6 strings and standard guitar tuning, that it be considered as a tablature arrangement for those of us who have Banji-tars and Guit-jos.
Maybe it'll give Taylor Swift something to practice on hers! Image may be NSFW.
Clik here to view.
It's got a nice diminished chord in it that I've never used in my banjo arrangement of the same tune... have to give that a try...
