Hey everyone.
I've been playing for about two years, mostly scruggs style, though now trying my hand at clawhammer. As a school teacher I get can get music lesson's through work. The new guitar music teacher is a great guitarist, but knows little about banjos, but he is helping with timing, technique and undoing other bad habits I've picked up by self teaching for the last year or so! A colleague at school is getting lessons for his lap steel guitar, which also is tuned to open G. He appears to be reasonably good. The three of us would like to work on playing together. They are happy for the music to be bluegrass with the banjo playing lead initially, while they work out their own breaks. Does anyone have any suggestions for bluegrass (or other) songs that work with both the lap steel and banjo and if so, point me in the direction of the banjo tab or a book? Cheers.
