I'm thinking of learning cuckoo/coo coo. I learn mainly by ear but like to use tabs as supplementary and also to see how different arrangements are played. This one (http://www.clawhammerbanjotab.co.uk/page29/page32/files/Coo%20Coo%20B%20C.pdf) looks interesting but has some things on it I don't recognize. It is from a UK site so maybe it is a UK tab format?
Questions are:
1. I know the 'X' symbol means "mute" but what does that mean to do? When it is used in this tab it is always tied to a previous note of the same string/fret. Do you just sustain the previous note or do you hit the note but in some "muted" fashion?
2. What does 'A' mean (see tab on on line 4 right before a 'P')
3. What is the purpose of the multiple colors? Blue appears to be the base color of notes, but then there are some notes that are colored red, black, or green.
Appreciate any help, thanks!
