I don't usually post tabs here, but thought this one has good potential for working on some basic skills.
After trying other tunings I realized that playing it out of open G tuning was the easiest. It's mostly on the second fret and uses lots of basic, yet challenging enough techniques good for practice -- hammer-ons, pull-offs, alternate string pull-offs, and tied notes. In this video I'm playing a tuned-down cello banjo so the key doesn't come out in G, but you get the idea of what it sounds like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKldYvFY45o.
Interestingly, the resource recording for this tune is by Kentucky fiddler Clyde Davenport and is called Wild Goose Chase (http://slippery-hill.com/Bb/WildGooseChase.mp3). He plays it much faster and it could indeed be a chase. It differs from the other recordings with that title, so I'll stick with the title I first heard, Geese Honking.
You can let me know if this tab is helpful. I don't include fingerings, other than the right hand thumb on the tied-notes, because I think you might have your own preferences. Hope you enjoy it and think of those geese flying south this time of year. What a sight and sound!
