I'm just getting into banjo playing after going to school to study jazz guitar. I have been getting a feel for the banjo by studying the Scruggs and Nickerson's books. I started playing because of my fascination with Fleck and Cavanaugh's ability to merge genres and create such compelling music. Does anyone have any of the Cavanaugh with saxophonist Bill Evans stuff transcribed? Back Country has a really cool head to it. The opening lick is pretty common but I can't figure out the right hand roll pattern when it picks up. Well anything out of the 3 solo releases Cavanaugh has done or anything from Bill Evans' Soulgrass or Dragonfly would be appreciated. Once I become more proficient with finger picks I will start transcribing some off this stuff.
