Just discovered a new thing to see the chords accurately in Tabledit. Not sure if seeing chord letters is author dependent but you can always look. The chord diagram thing is basically useless, so forget the file / options area where you can check boxes or uncheck for them. Instead, go to the Main Menu in Tabledit and click on Display. Then look on the bottom and click on Guitar then check out the tablature again. You might just see letters for the chords for each measure. It has helped me in figuring out the chords in order to create a backing track in BIAB. Then you can jump back to see the banjo tab the same way - via the Display tab in the main menu.
Thanks to Hans Holzherr and Jack Baker for help interpreting tabs and walking me through this. They are not only great musicians but patient tutors as well.
