I've noticed lately that there so many new bands with improvised banjo picking that it has no form other than to be a 5 string banjo being fingerpicked. It is becoming difficult to keep up with so many new banjo songs; maybe 20 a day. Very interesting time for banjo teachers like myself to possibly keep up with so many different banjo styles and so much of it improvised with no reference to "Bluegrass" or "Old Time" playing. Could it be that traditional players in either bluegrass or clawhammer will become extinct?..Ha...not worried too much yet but it is leaning that way...Jack
