Hi Everyone,
I wonder if anyone could help me tab out a short but beautiful song from Dave Matthews and Grover. I'm too much of a newbie to be able to post links but if you YouTube "I need a word Grover Dave Matthews" you can't miss it.
Dave plays in on a six string banjos, and I believe tabs exist guitar (though again, too much of a newbie to post a link to it).
I play five string Scruggs somewhere between beginner and intermediate (I can crack out Tin Roof by Steve Martin pretty easy).
Why do I want this? Well, I've learned every nursery rhyme available to play to my 3 year old (now almost 4 year old) son and each time I get "no banjo daddy" or "too loud banjo daddy" and have to go into my room and close the door...I've tried literally every nursery rhyme you can think of.
Does anyone want to have a guess what his new favourite song is? That's right, this one. He wants it played in the car every time we go anywhere, he sings along quietly in the back and, of course, seeing Dave play it in the video on Dave's "banjo", he is now asking why I can't play it.
On top of that, one of my parenting strategies, which I got from a book by Mr Rogers on raising kids is to introduce them to music to help them understand their emotions. My little ball of perfect has now given me the ultimate invitation to talk about emotions (that's what the song deals with) with him and sing about emotions with him and my skill level is just not good enough to transpose and it's breaking my heart. The thought of us singing this together one day fills me with more joy than you can imagine.
I'm in standard tuning, but am happy to retune, capo etc etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)
Thanks heaps, I've lurked for a while and learned so much here so thanks to everyone for the community.
