Fuel The Fire - Sarah Jarosz (clawhammer)

I'd love to see a tab for this song, even if it was a basic arrangement.  Sarah does a lot of embellishments and drop-thumb on this song I think.  I'm new to clawhammer but learning fairly quickly.  This song is still probably well above my skill level but would be worth working towards.  Thanks...

Dave

can anyone tab this out......please?

Allen Shelton Licks - Tab Help/Improvements

Hello all,

I recently posted my version of Allen Shelton's arrangement to "I Can't Stop Loving You". I'm trying my best to figure out some Allen Shelton licks. Jody Hughes did a WONDERFUL job in some of his licks, including a open E break to Jim & Jesse's "Why Not Confess" and the licks Allen played in Lonnie Irving's "Trucker's Vitus".

I'm trying to find some great Shelton licks to play, and add to some ideas in songs.

Which licks or breaks would you recommend?

This is a song I would like to play at church. I can follow the guitar tabs, but I am having trouble figuring it out on the banjo. I am just starting out and need to find an instructor. All I have is you tube and maybe a kind hearted soul here. I am new to the forum too.  The song is not bluegrass, but it is a good worship song.  I have provided a link to the guitar tabs, I hope someone can give me a hand.  I think I can get through the song with an alternating thumb role. Any thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. There is a video on Youtube.

Best Day of My Life American Authors Tab - Comments?

Couldn't find a banjo tab for this song online anywhere, so I figured I'd give it a shot. Let me know what you think... this is my first tab. The part I feel might be a little off as far as the roll used is the chorus. Because there are no banjo covers up on Youtube or decent footage of how their "banjoist" (if you've heard the banjo line/chord progression in the song, you know the reason for the quotations) plays it, I didn't have a whole lot to go off of. Oh well. Enjoy!

Does anyone have a banjo tab, clawhammer style for fishin blues by Taj Mahal?

Long Journey Home

I have arranged a break for "Long Journey Home". I did not look at any tab or transcribed some recording, I just sat down with the melody in my head, banjo in hands and came up with this. I think it qualifies as my first real bluegrass arrangement. Unfortunately I'm not 100% happy with it because of some rough spots. Please let me know what you think.

I wanted to preserve the syncopated melody in measures 1 and 9 (quarter note, half note, quarter note) but somehow it feels strange to hit the 4th string so many times in a measure. I have thought about putting a rest between the two consecutive low D notes instead of the high D note. Perhaps three melody notes is too much?

Furthermore I'm not really happy with how I rendered the melody in measures 12 through 14 but I couldn't think of something better.

All in all I don't think that's how Earl would have played it (especially measures 1 and 9). I also don't like that I use a 3-3-2 shortened forward roll pattern so often. And then there are so few rests.

Clawhammer tab request for "Bonny Tammie" (fiddle tune)?

Howdy folks, this will probably be a simple one for y'all, but I'm still a beginner and don't feel equipped to do my own tabulature yet. My friend is a beginner on fiddle, and I've been playing clawhammer for about 2 months, and would consider myself an intermediate player. If you could tab a clawhammer version of the song linked below, at times carrying the melody, at times playing more of an accompaniment, that would be great. Preferably with some drop-thumb/double-thumb, so it's interesting.

Thanks in advance!

Disheartened by Earl's Tab Book

I have been learning/playing for about 3 years or more now. I really like Earl's song American Made ,World Played . I've been trying to learn it from his book but thought it didn't sound right. The first few notes seem mostly right , but the next 2 chords it shows are way off base !!!

I have played guitar by ear for years , so I know when a chord progression goes up not down.

Now I'm not quiet sure what to do . Maybe buy slowdown software and learn by ear ? This is the second song where I knew the music was wrong.

Any help or suggestions ?
