Here is the way Elizabeth taught me how to play her version of Freight Train when She was in NYC for a week. Izzy Young of the Folklore Center in the Village of NYC, sent Libba to talk with me (never knew why but soon found out why) She was fascinating to be with and wanted me to teach her how to read actual notation and by golly, She did learn some basic stuff. Libba invited me to have dinner with her at her home In Washington D. C. but I didn't make it in time--She passed on...Jack

Practice Tab - Finding the melody
Hey yall, I'm requesting a tab to help start a foundation for learning to find the melody. Perhaps a scale blended with a 2 and 3 finger roll. Specifically from the 5th fret above, not down the neck. Simple, basic scruggs-style-find-the-melody way.
Also if this is the incorrect discussion, I apologize - but I'm requesting tab if anyone has access to one.
I understand finding the melody is singing along and you don't need scales to play the banjo. I mainly requesting this, to build confidence to get to that point - to start with a basis. I have a knowledge of chords, scales, and 6ths. However, I believe I'm overthinking this to death.
Thank you in advance.

Red Rooster
Here's a Scruggs style tablature for Red Rooster. The tune is also known as She'll Be Comin' Around The Mountain.
I always like to include a composer attribution for the tunes associated with my tabs. I had assumed that this was a "traditional" tune, but just to be sure, I did a Google search for a composer. Google said that "it is a traditional railroading folk song originally written in 1927 with lyrics by Carl Sandburg and music by Oliver Wallace". I didn't think that passed the "smell test", so I also tried a search using a chatbot application. The chatbot said "it is a traditional folk song, and its origins can be traced back to a spiritual called "When the Chariot Comes".

Oh ye must be born again by daily and vincent
Does anyone know the chord progression for the song "oh ye must be born again" by daily and vincent?
Also if anyone has tabs for the banjo break i would sure appreciate anything you got!!
Zipped sgu files
Sorry to bring this topic up again.
My computer broke a while ago and I lost all my sgu Bluegrass backing tracks for Band In a Box.
I know there was a suggestion to upload them on here somewhere but don’t know if this happened.
If this did could someone point in the right direction, alternatively would I be able to get them elsewhere if someone is willing to send to me.
Many Thanks in Advance
Chris

Here's a fabulous tune arranged for Banjo by Bill Keith way back in the 70s. Bill showed me this at a lesson and I quickly wrote it down and years later into Tabledit. So here it is...Jack Baker
