Jam/Get togethers in Greenville SC

I know this is probably the wrong place to ask this but I couldn't find a specific forum topic anywhere else so please excuse me if it is the wrong place. Does anyone know of a jaming/get together or play group in the Greenville SC or surrounding area? I have been playing for a while but never have had the opportunity to play with others and based on what I have read here on BHO it can greatly improve ones playing or a person can just learn from doing this. If anyone knows of any and wouldn't mind letting me know I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!!

Tabledit - Approach for creating a TAB with multiple instruments

I've been very frustrated trying to figure out how to do this.  I started trying to add (define?) instruments at the very start, but couldn't get that right.  I'm a bit anxious about trying to add instruments to a finished banjo TAB.  I'm relatively familiar with getting a banjo TAB created, but struggling with some of the refinements.

What is the right approach for doing this?  Also, adding a guitar with chords or a base line seems rather repetitive.  Do you have a process for copying from another TAB?

I can't seem to get more than one TAB open at a time, but I see the function for windowing files.

It would be a simple matter to take a song that already has banjo, guitar and bass with the same chord structure, and simply clear the banjo line.  But not possible for all songs (ie All the Way To Reno).

Any help or suggestions appreciated.  Thanks.

Stuffed inside my copy of John's Burke's book were several loose, photocopied sheets of clawhammer tab from a 1976 Kicking Mule publication. Below is a list of the arrangements (by Andy Cahan, Bob Carlin, Henry Sapoznik). Does anyone know what book these were from? Cheers, Kim

Pretty Polly

Hey everyone. I am pretty new to the banjo and have learned a simple version of Pretty Polly. I am having some trouble with timing on lyrics though. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a tab that has the lyrics on it, or give me advice on how to figure out the timing. I have listened to countless versions and still cannot figure it out. Any advice would be a great help! I am playing in sawmil tuning if anyone wants to know that. Thanks!

Hey everybody! New to this forum, and fairly new to the banjo, 5 string. I found this song on youtube and I'm interested in learning how to play it. I think the key is C minor. But I'm having trouble figuring out how it's played, I suspect it has some alternative form of tuning on it. Can you help me out? I appreciate any help I can get!

Does anyone have the chords for "Last Train from Poor Valley"? I'm stumped by one chord in the chorus (the one at "lightly falls my cabin round"). I was playing along with the Seldom Scene version last night and that one chord was driving me nuts. Thanks.

Hi,

I saw a few requests for the tab on this one. I'm in the process of working on a "Play-Along" song book for Hal Leonard which will hopefully be available by April or May of this year (2014). It will have this song as well as a few other recent "hits."

I'd share the tab here, but I think that HL owns it by virtue of their hiring me to figure it out for them.

I'm a new teacher and I'm getting sick of writing tabs by hand.  What is a good computer program for writing banjo tablature?  

Any opinions on Sibelius? Any good free options?

Does anyone have something really simple for this song so I can accompany my other half on guitar. We've been asked to 'do a turn' at a friends wedding this year. We are completely freaking out about it but would like to do something relevant to the day, the guitarist isn't keen on anything remotely Bluegrass which is a good thing because I am not remotely competent at anything Bluegrass. :-)

So as you may be aware the new season of Game of Thrones is heading are way and I was really hoping if someone could make a tab for the main theme so I could learn how to play it. I had noticed there was an old forum made awhile back about it but when I click on the link it never loads I assume its been lost the endlessness that is the internet.
