Impossible to track down a copy of Old and in the Way so can anyone oblige? Happy with a photocopy/xerox of the original
I subscribed to Tabledit. My subscription went to Rochester NY and my payment to somebody in France. I found that subscription procedure strange. The guy in France must have to tell the guy in NY that they received payment before I can become a subscriber. When I buy software I usually just provide the information and credit card info, receive an email with a link, execute the link and get the software downloading and installed. I want to try the software with some ".bjo" tab files but need the full version of Tabledit to do this. Guess I will just sit here waiting for the email that contains the information I need to install Tabledit and get it working.
How long did it take to get your version of Tabledit working ?
Bill Emerson is one of my favorite banjo players, right up there with Earl, Bill Keith, J. D., Sonny, Butch, and Kristin. Throughout his career he has been remarkably creative, writing numerous memorable banjo tunes, and TtA is one of his best. You can find it on the Stelling Banjo Anthology. I have posted in the Tab Archive the tablature of my approximation of TtA, not note-for-note, but reasonably close. In addition to creating a really fine tune, Emerson also introduced and employs in this tune a kind of melodic style that departs from the Keith/Thomson/Best approach (see also his tune The Grey Ghost). This is more like double-thumbing, in which he plays cascades of melodic notes on alternating strings. Rather than try to describe the technique in words, let me point to where in the tab you can find it in, for example, measures 14 and 15 and measures 46 and 47. Note that you can use the technique low on the neck (e.g., measure 14 and 15 near the nut) for a brassier sound, or much higher on the neck (measures 46 and 47) for a sweeter sound. Emerson plays it at a blistering speed and capos up 2, in the key of A, and the tab accordingly is up-tempo and in A.
I am looking for banjo tab for David Crowder Lift your Head Weary Sinner. Cant seem to find it anywhere. I know its played in Em but cant seem to get it just right. Any help would be appreciated. I have a link to the song below:

I just looked at Alfred Publishing revised version of the "Scruggs Book". Having used the original book for a long time, I don't think the revised version offers much. In addition, I don't like the tab. Too spaced out, and unlike other people, I prefer the handwritten style for tabs. To my eye, it flows better and is easier to read. It would be hard to get that bb revised version spiral bound. IMHO, heavily used books last longer and are easier to use when they are spiral bound.
O.K., here is my question. Does anybody sell downloadable copies of individual "scruggs style" tunes ? I don't want "watered down" versions, but intermediate or advanced intermediate tabs with multiple versions. I used to play banjo every free minute I had but physical problems with my picking hand led to my quitting for a decade or more. I started playing again, but I sometime forget how to play parts of tunes. Unfortunately, most free tabs aren't aren't advanced as the versions I once played. So, I need some intermediate / advanced intermediate tabs.
Bought a used Gold Star GF200. To my ear it sounds as good as the Deering Calico I bought earlier. Cost me $1100, the same price as the new Calico. So you kno I bought the Calico much earlier. The Calico was made better, but didn't sound better. The GF-200 definitely looks better. The inlays on the Calico made other banjo players cringe when they saw them. One guy remarked "That banjo should only be played at DisneyWorld".
Sorry about asking a lot of questions, but I have been out of touch with the "banjo world" for 10 - 15 years or more. This website helped me get the "right" banjo. Now it is helping me find other things.
Would anyone have a tab for Needlecase in open G? I would really appreciate it!

I just started using Tabledit, but I am having a problem getting the numeric keyboard in "num lock" status. I browsed the web, but everything I read and tried to use isn't any help. I have a Dell desktop. Instructions keep referring to the "start" icon, which I don't have on my screen. The lower left corner of my screen has a windows icon and there isn't a start icon on my screen. I am using Windows 10.
If you don't have a "num lock" key on your keyboard, and are using Tabledit and Windows 1
..0, how do you activate the "num lock" ?
Hey all!
I am trying to learn NEEDTOBREATHE's "The Outsiders" and I am struggling to figure out the chords. I found a pretty good cover, but I cannot identify what chords he is using... Furthermore, it sounds like he is using standard tuned Banjo (G) with the 2nd string lowered in pitch 1 step or the equivalent of 2 frets to an A note. If anyone has any suggestions for me, I would appreciate it very much.

Hello lovely people. Does anyone have the tab for "I wish I had someone to love me" . I play old time, clawhammer style and it would be nice to play it in G.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

I have been listening to a lot of Kenny Baker lately, and this led me to revisit my tab for Baker's tune "Denver Belle," which I posted 5 or 6 years ago. I changed it a bit and added a guitar track, and you will of course find it in the Tab Archive. Ah, Kenny Baker ...

Has some great banjo & fiddle in the intro. Chords are easy to find, but the melody over the fiddle is hard to pick out... no pun intended.
Just saw these guys as Festy 2016 in VA. Can't seem to get them to play this one live, I guess they don't like it anymore. I'm like 0/7 with their shows.
Thanks for any help you guys can provide.

Hey All - anyone know of some good sources of beginnerish/intermediate CH tabs? I've scoured this site and Mike Inverson's site but need more. Ideally I'm after some contemporary stuff but if that is limited as I suspect than traditional tunes will have to suffice. Thanks!!!
Anyone got tab for Hills of Roane County?. I'm looking for clawhammer but a simple bluegrass version would work to get me started.
I was driving along on a road trip in SC when on my XM radio the old Stater Brothers song "Flowers on the Wall" came on. Sounds like it's a lot of foward/backward rolls for the most part but does anyone have the tab for this song? I looked in the archive and didn't find it. I really like the song and thought it'd be fun to learn.
Thanks!
I just upgraded from the demo version of Tabedit to the full version and while my rudimentary skill are working alright, I have a question for those of you who might be more well versed with the application.
I'd some help with repeats and endings.
Hey All - anyone ever tab out (CH) Lonesome And A Long Way Home by Eric Clapton? What a great tune!!!
